An investigation is under way following the discovery of human remains in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow.
Two people were out walking up the Wicklow Mountains near Glencree yesterday evening when they came upon the remains in undergrowth off Military Road.
Gardaí were contacted immediately and arrived at the scene a short time later.
It is understood that the remains are a torso, and it is not known if the person was male or female.

It is believed the remains had not been there for a long period of time.
Superintendent Pat Ward of Bray Garda Station said gardaí believe the person met their death by sinister means but the result of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation.
Members of the technical bureau completed a forensic examination of the area this afternonon and no further remains were found.

An appeal for information has been issued, and gardaí said that anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area can contact Bray Garda Station on 01-6665300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
