The operators of the Poolbeg incinerator have this evening been issued with an order from the Heath and Safety Authority to temporarily cease the incineration process at the plant.
The order will remain in place until the HSA has fully checked the combustion process in the incinerator, and follows an inspection today by officials from the Authority.
Eleven workers were in an area close to the flue gas treatment area in the plant on Wednesday night when the incident occurred.
It is understood the workers began to complain about feeling unwell and after being given first aid on scene were taken to St Vincent's Hospital for assessment.
Nine were later discharged and two were kept in for observation but have since been released.
