A man in his 80s has died following an incident where he struck by a vehicle in Leitrim.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal traffic collision in Mohill.
At approximately 10.45am, a male pedestrian aged in his 80s was struck by a 4x4 vehicle at the junction of Glebe St and Main St, Mohill.
He was taken by ambulance to Mullingar Hospital where he later passed away. The occupants of the 4x4 were not injured.
The scene of the incident is preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and traffic diversions are in place. The local coroner has been notified.
