The circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found in a Dublin city centre apartment last week are being treated as suspicious.

John Stewart, 54, was found dead in an apartment near Clanbrassil Street on Thursday evening.

A post-mortem examination was carried out the following day.

Gardaí have appealed for information and in particular are trying to determine Mr Stewart’s movements between Tuesday 1 December and Wednesday 2 December.

He may have spent some time in Dublin city centre during that period and it is believed he was wearing a grey padded zip-up coat, light coloured jeans and a grey woollen hat.
