The Food Safety Authority has recalled a batch of Aldi roast chicken basil pesto pasta due to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes.
The affected batch has a use by date of 31 July, and consumers have been advised to avoid eating it.
The FSAI has said recall notices will be displayed at the point of sale.
It added there is no evidence as yet that this recall is linked to the listeriosis outbreak related to ready meals last week, nor the recent recall of several spinach and mixed leave products.
The FSAI has requested that retailers remove the impacted batch from sale and display recall notices.
Wholesalers have been asked to contact affected customers.
Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications.
Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria monocytogenes infections, including pregnant women, babies, and people with weakened immune systems, including the elderly.
The incubation period (time between initial infection and first symptoms appearing) is on average three weeks but can range between three days and 70 days.
