Cervical screening tests are set to resume at The Coombe Hospital from today.
Screening had been halted due to accreditation issues.
It is expected that the hospital will eventually handle around 10% of CervicalCheck programme slides, amounting to around 30,000 a year.
Most of the screening continues to be done by Quest in the US.
The Master of The Coombe, Professor Michael O' Connell, said that women in Ireland can be assured of the quality they are receiving from the National Cervical Screening Laboratory at the hospital.
Chief Executive of the National Screening Service Fiona Murphy said that the laboratory can now begin building its volumes up towards the target of 10% of all CervicalChcek slides.
