The chief executive officer of Cork University Hospital has announced that he will leave his post at the end of next month.
In an email to colleagues, Tony McNamara said he is moving to accept other opportunities in the private sector.
Mr McNamara has been CEO of Cork University Hospital for 27 years.
He is a long serving member in the health management sector and was appointed to the change management team for the health service in 2004.
Mr McNamara previously worked in the Southern Health Board.
