INMO says 500 patients waiting for hospital bed

There are 500 patients waiting for admission to a bed, according to figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

It compares with 551 patients on the same day last year.

The worst-affected hospital today is University Hospital Limerick with 41 patients waiting.

The Health Service Executive figures put the number of patients waiting in emergency departments at 377.
