The Health Service Executive has said it has been notified of two cases of measles in an adult and a child in Dublin, who had recently been in mainland Europe.
It has urged people to be vigilant about measles.
It said there is a possible risk of measles to people who may have been in the same healthcare setting as these two cases during the infectious period.
The two measles cases attended the emergency department at Tallaght Hospital on 1 and 5 July; the Mater Hospital on 7 July; Children's University Hospital Temple Street on 13, 15, and 16 July and Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin, on 16 July.
The HSE has advised people not to contact the hospitals if they think they may have come in contact with a case of measles, but instead should seek advice from their GP if they become unwell.
