Hospital overcrowding has reduced slightly according to latest figures, however the number of patients waiting for admission to a hospital bed today remains high at 614 patients.
The figures by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, show that the hospital worst affected is Galway University Hospital with 51 patients waiting.
The peak figure this week was 664 patients on Monday, partly due to a back log of delayed discharges, as a result of the recent bad weather.
Around 40,000 hospital appointments were cancelled last Thursday and Friday as a result of heavy snowfall.
The Emergency Department Task Force is due to meet next Monday to review the situation.
