University Hospital Kerry has said that 34 patients have so far been recalled following a review of scans.

The review was ordered after concern was raised during the summer over a number of cases.

It relates to X-rays, ultrasound and CAT scans carried out between March 2016 and July of this year.

The hospital has admitted a number of serious delayed diagnoses.

The latest update from the hospital has said that 21,850 images have now been reviewed of 46,300 still to be checked.

A helpline remains open daily from 9am-5pm and can contacted on 1800 742 900.

It is expected to take around six weeks to complete the review.
