William Orpen archive acquired by National Gallery of Ireland
An archive of over 400 letters and drawings by Sir William Orpen has been acquired by the National Gallery of Ireland.
The collection includes manuscript letters he wrote to his wife Grace Orpen, as well as finished sketches and drawings, sketchbooks, photographs and other personal memorabilia.

The gallery already holds over 360 letters from Sir Orpen to Evelyn St George, as well as a collection of oil paintings and works on paper.
