A three-year-old Irish boy is in a critical condition following a swimming pool incident in Spain.
Emergency services were alerted at 9.15am when the boy was found floating in the Cabo Roig urbanisation pool in Orihuela, Alicante.
Paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation for over an hour on the boy before reviving him.
He was flown to the Hospital de Alicante by helicopter.
Guardia Civil said the boy was in an extremely "critical condition". He is understood to have been born in December 2015.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade says it "is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance".
