Outgoing Fine Gael TD, Maria Bailey, has confirmed that she is not a candidate in next month's General Election.
The announcement comes two months after she was deselected as a candidate for the party in the Dún Laoghaire constituency in Dublin.
Ms Bailey has been in political difficulty since it emerged that she had taken a personal injuries claim against a Dublin hotel after falling off a swing. She later withdrew her case from the courts.
In a statement today, Ms Bailey said that "with great sadness" she had decided not to seek re-election to the Dáil.
The statement added that "the past number of months have been extremely difficult ... both privately and politically".
She thanked those who had supported her throughout her political career.
