Five people will contest the election tomorrow for the role of ceann comhairle in the 32nd Dáil.
Peter Finnegan, the Clerk of Dáil Éireann, confirmed this evening that at close of nominations five valid candidates had been put forward.
The candidates are: Andrew Doyle, Wicklow; Bernard J Durkan, Kildare North; Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin, Cavan-Monaghan; Seán Ó Fearghaíl, Kildare South; and Maureen O'Sullivan, Dublin Central.
The Dáil convenes at 10.30am tomorrow.
It will being with the reading of President Michael D Higgins's Proclamation convening the Dáil.
This will be followed by a report on the issue of writs, and the names of the new TDs, in the order they were elected.
The election of the new ceann comhairle will be the next item of business.
