Doyle and O'Sullivan interested in ceann comhairle role

Fine Gael TD for Wicklow Andrew Doyle has indicated that he is going to put his name forward for the position of ceann comhairle in the 32nd Dáil. 

Independent Maureen O'Sullivan this afternoon said she would allow her name to go forward for the role.

The election will take place by secret ballot on Thursday.

Sinn Féin is nominating Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin for the role.

Fianna Fáil has selected Sean Ó Fearghaíl.

Fine Gael Waterford deputy John Deasy has also indicated that he would like to contest the position.
