Trinity College has agreed to a rent freeze on on-campus and other college-provided student accommodation.
The decision follows a campaign by students which included the blockading of the Book of Kells exhibition last month.
The university's finance committee agreed this morning "to maintain student accommodation rates at their current level for the next academic year".
The decision will at that point be reviewed, the university said.
It means college rents will not rise next year for around 1,800 students.
