The results of appeals to this year's Leaving Certificate grades became available through the examinations website this morning.
Since 11am, candidates have been able to check if their examination mark has changed and view their final grade.
According to the State Examinations Commission, over 23% of the more than 11,000 appeals received have been given an upgraded result.
This year, just over 6,000 candidates (23%) made an appeal against one or more results, which is down from the 14% appeal rate in 2022.
English, Irish, and Mathematics were the subjects that saw the most appeals submitted.
The subjects that had the most upgraded marks include Business, in which 37% of appealed papers were marked up (282 of 753), Ag Science, in which 44% (99) of the 224 papers were given upgrades, and Geography in which 36% (203) of the 557 appealed papers were marked up.
17 (40%) of the 43 appeals in Classical Studies were upgraded.
Subjects that had less successful appeal rates included Technology, in which only 8% (3) of the 34 reviewed papers were marked up, while only two of the 92 Politics and Society papers reviewed had a new higher mark awarded (2%).
Candidates who appealed their results now have the option of reviewing their remarked scripts, and have until 5pm on 2 October to do so.
This year 409,634 grades were issued to 58,006 candidates, with the average student taking seven subjects.
