Leaving Certificate students have been urged to meet the final deadline for applying to the CAO system, which is at 5.15pm on Monday.
Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Betty McLaughlin, a former president of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors, said a €50 charge will apply to logon and register.
She said schools could help students in difficulty with this cost.
Students do not need to choose their course yet, but need to indicate their intention to apply.
The online change of mind facility will open next Friday.
Leaving Cert students can avail of the change of mind facility until 1 July.
First round CAO offers come out on 21 August.
