Man in his 20s dies following car crash in Dublin

A man in his 20s has died following a road crash in the early hours of the morning in Dublin.

The single-vehicle crash occurred on the R121 at The Ward, Finglas, Co Dublin, at around 12:40am.

The man in his 20s, who was driving the car, was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of serious injuries. He was later pronounced dead.

The coroner has been notified.

A passenger, also in his 20s, was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The road was closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and is expected to reopen this afternoon.

Gardaí are appealing to road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), who were travelling on the R121 between 11:50pm and 12:40am, to make the footage available to gardaí.
