Two men have been arrested after cannabis worth around €1.52 million was seized by gardaí in south Dublin.
The Dublin Crime Response Team discovered approximately 73kg of cannabis herb and 10kg of cannabis resin during a search of a residence yesterday.
Gardaí said two men in their 50s have been arrested in connection with the investigation.
They are currently detained pursuant to Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at garda stations in the Dublin metropolitan region.
The drugs seized are subject to technical analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.
Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
The Acting Assistant Commissioner of the Dublin Metropolitan Region said the seizure was "another example of the relentless efforts" by An Garda Síochána to target criminality that "causes the most harm in our communities".
Jonathan Roberts said the drugs were found during a "targeted operation" in addition to a number of other seizures in the city centre and across the region in the past number of days.
