Gardaí are continuing to question a man in connection with the seizure of €110,000 of cannabis at the offices of Bauer Media in Dublin.

Five and a half kilos of cannabis were seized yesterday as part of a joint Garda Customs investigation into drug smuggling.

It is believed the drugs were seized after they had been identified coming into the country before being posted to the office.

A man in his 30s was arrested and is still being detained under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act.

He can be questioned for up to three days.

Gardaí said the seizure was the result of an intelligence-led operation involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Dublin South Central Divisional Drug Unit and Revenue’s Customs Service.

Bauer Media Audio Ireland is a commercial radio group with eight stations including Newstalk, Today FM, SPIN in Dublin and South West, 98FM in Dublin and Red FM in Cork.

It also operates podcasts and the digital sports brand Off the Ball.

Bauer said in a statement this afternoon it had no comment to make on this matter.
