Two men charged over serious assault in Temple Bar

Two men have been charged in connection with a serious assault in Temple Bar in Dublin in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The men, aged in their 20s and 30s, are due to appear before a sitting of the District Court on Monday.

The victim of the assault was identified earlier following a public appeal.

Gardaí had released an image of a tattoo the injured man has on his right forearm as part of their appeal to identify him.

The man remains in a critical condition in Beaumont Hospital.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who was in the Cope Street area in Temple Bar between midnight and 1am last Wednesday morning to contact them.

They have particularly asked anyone who may have information, including mobile phone or dash-cam footage, to contact Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 666 9000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
