A man is in critical condition in hospital, following a serious assault in Clondalkin two weeks ago.

Electronic devices and weapons were seized during a number of related searches yesterday and gardaí have now issued an appeal for witnesses.

Gardaí in Ronanstown said that on the evening of Friday 5 December, at around 6.30pm, the man in his late 30s was knocked down by a vehicle in the Cappaghmore estate, Clondalkin.

A number of men got out of the vehicle and continued to assault him with weapons.

The man was brought to Beaumont Hospital, where he currently remains in a critical condition.

Gardaí attached to Lucan and Ronanstown stations, with the assistance of Armed Support units, conducted a number of searches yesterday morning and seized electronic devices and weapons.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the Cappaghmore Estate/Ninth Lock Road area of Clondalkin between 6pm and 7pm on the evening of Friday 5 December to contact them, and for anyone who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
