A number of properties have been searched in west Dublin as part of the investigation into an assault which left a woman with serious burn injuries.

The woman was taken to hospital after the incident at a house in the Oak Downs area of Clondalkin on 25 November, and she remains in a serious condition.

The woman, who is in her 40s, sustained severe burns to her face and body.

Search operations were carried out at eight properties this morning and gardaí said a number of "items of evidential value were seized".

The investigation is being led by a senior investigating officer at an incident room in Clondalkin Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to the November incident, in particular anyone who was in the area between 9.30am and 10.20am and may have video footage, to contact Clondalkin Garda Station on 01 666 7600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
