Dublin Airport is warning passengers of traffic delays due to a taxi driver protest.

Gardaí had also warned of the delays which were expected from 4.30pm with motorists encouraged to avoid routes around Dublin Airport if possible.

Other areas that were expected to see delays due to the "go slow" protest are Conynham Road to Merrion Square and UCD to Merrion Square, along with Northwood in Santry and Estuary Road to the airport.

Passengers are being advised to give themselves plenty of time before their flights, and to consider alternative routes.

It is the second demonstration by drivers who are protesting against Uber's new fixed pricing plan for the city.

Taxi drivers are calling on the Minister for Transport and the National Transport Authority to intervene to stop Uber from imposing the system on workers who use the app.
