Two teenage boys have been injured, one seriously, after a car mounted a footpath on the N11 at Foxrock in Dublin yesterday evening.

It is understood that the car hit a lamppost and bin close to a bus stop, resulting in injuries to the two pedestrians.

The teenagers were both taken to hospital following the incident. One of them is still being treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries at CHI Crumlin.

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was also taken to hospital for medical assessment.
