The Irish headquarters of global insurer Allianz was damaged in Dublin last night.
A small number of windows were smashed and graffiti sprayed on the building at Elm Park in Dublin 4.
A pro-Palestinian group opposing the company's relationship with an Israeli weapon manufacturer has admitted responsibility.
Gardaí said they attended the scene following an incident of criminal damage at approximately 2.50am.
The scene has been preserved for technical examination and investigations are ongoing, a spokesperson added.
A number of Allianz offices across Europe were vandalised in the past 24 hours.
In a statement, Allianz plc said that "a group of people in balaclavas and black combat style clothing and armed with a variety of implements attempted to gain entry to the building by smashing windows and doors".
It said Allianz employees and contractors in the building at the time alerted gardaí and secured themselves in a safe location in the building.
"The attackers also daubed red paint on the building before leaving.
"Customers of Allianz can continue to contact us as normal and there is no disruption in service," the statement added.
In a follow up statement, Allianz said: "Contrary to online commentary and media reporting in Ireland, Allianz plc can confirm that it has no commercial relationship of any kind with Elbit Systems."
