Food delivery and takeaway service Foodhub is to relocate its global headquarters to Dublin, with the creation of over 35 jobs.

The food tech company HQ had been located in Stoke-on-Trent in England, where it was founded in 2017.

Foodhub provides food ordering and delivery software, and point of sale hardware, to restaurants, takeaways and stadiums.

As part of the move to Dublin, the company is seeking to hire for senior roles across its technology, sales, and customer services functions.

It already employs more than 1,000 people across its worldwide operations.

Foodhub, which has more than one million users, has partnerships with over 30,000 restaurants and takeaways in markets including Ireland, the UK, the US, Australia and New Zealand.

It processes more than 65 million orders a year through its app and website.

The online food delivery and takeaway service said it differs from other platforms as it charges restaurants a fixed weekly fee, rather than a percentage of the order value.

The owner and chief executive of Foodhub said the company's decision to locate its corporate HQ in Dublin "reflects our long-term commitment to Ireland as a strategic, innovative and operational hub, as well as a valuable gateway into the European market."

Ardian Mula said: "Being a major centre for technology and innovation and having a renowned hospitality sector makes Ireland an ideal environment for us to grow our partnerships and drive innovation in our technology."

"Establishing our headquarters in Ireland allows us access to highly sought-after tech talent, a large pool of prospective B2B customers and a tech-savvy consumer base," he added.

The Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment said the innovative service provided by Foodhub will allow independent food businesses to "operate more competitively and effectively."

Peter Burke said Ireland’s "highly skilled workforce and connectivity to Europe" are just two of the many reasons why companies such as Foodhub choose to locate in Ireland.

The chief executive of IDA Ireland said Foodhub’s decision to establish its global headquarters in Dublin is "a strong endorsement of Ireland’s reputation as a hub for innovation and international business."

Michael Lohan said Ireland offers "a unique blend of global connectivity, deep talent pools, and a collaborative business environment, all of which make it an ideal location for ambitious companies like Foodhub."
