Two arrested after €1.1m worth of drugs seized in Dublin

Two men have been arrested following the discovery of controlled drugs worth €1.1 million in Dublin.

The seizure was part of an investigation targeting organised crime under Operation Tara and was made after gardaí intercepted a vehicle in Tallaght, Dublin 24, shortly after midday.

Gardaí also conducted a search of a residential premises in the area as part of the investigation.

A total of 57kg of cannabis, along with amounts of heroin and alleged amphetamine, were seized.

In a statement, gardaí said the drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

The two men, aged in their 50s and 20s, were arrested and are currently being detained at Garda stations in Dublin under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
