A garda motorcyclist has been taken to hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries following an incident involving a car in Dublin.

Shortly before 10am gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the incident involving a car and a garda motorcycle on Churchtown Road Upper in Dundrum.

The on-duty garda member was taken to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment and welfare supports have been made available to the garda by local management.

No other injuries have been reported.

The road was closed for a period of time but has since reopened to traffic.

Gardaí are appealing to road users with camera footage (including dash-cam), who were in the area between 9.30-10am, to make it available to gardaí.
