A 44-year-old man has been brought before Dublin Circuit Court after he was extradited to Ireland from the US.
A bench warrant was issued for Franklin Campbell, with an address at Somerset Place, Richardson in Texas, when he failed to appear in court in July 2020 in relation to a money laundering charge.
Today, Detective Garda Michael Harney said he had arrested Mr Campbell at 8.25am this morning at Dublin Airport.
There was no application for bail and his case is due to be mentioned again tomorrow morning.
Gardaí from the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau arrested Mr Campbell on foot of an extradition warrant under Operation SKEIN, co-ordinated by the Garda Economic Crime Bureau.
He was extradited from the US with the assistance of Interpol and US authorities.
