Woman charged in connection with Dublin fatal hit-and-run

A woman arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Blanchardstown in Dublin last December has been charged.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was detained yesterday. She is due to appear in court next Tuesday.

A 40-year-old man, who was also arrested yesterday, has been released without charge.

A file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Georgina Hogg Moore, 39, and her 40-year-old husband, Anthony (Anto) Hogg, were struck by a vehicle near the Blanchardstown Centre on 26 December 2024.

Ms Hogg Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr Hogg was seriously injured and later died at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown.

A number of other pedestrians were also involved, but they were not injured.

A 45-year-old man, John Halpin, of Whitestown Avenue in Blanchardstown, was charged at a sitting of Dublin District Court on 30 December 2024 with four offences, including two counts of dangerous driving causing death.
