A woman is in critical condition in hospital after an alleged assault in Co Dublin earlier this week.
Gardaí said that it happened at a residence in Balbriggan and was reported at around 9.30pm on Tuesday.
The woman, who is in her 40s, was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.
A technical examination was carried out at the scene.
Gardaí have said investigations are ongoing.
