A man in his 20s and a teenager have been arrested in connection with an assault at a property in Clondalkin in west Dublin yesterday.
A man in his 20s remains in hospital being treated for non-life-threatening injuries following the incident, which happened in Kilcronan View, Clondalkin yesterday afternoon.
It is understood he sustained facial injuries from a caustic substance and three of his fingers were cut off.
This morning a man in his 20s and a youth in his late teens were arrested.
They are being detained at a garda station in Dublin.
Gardaí have said investigations are ongoing and have appealed for anyone with information to the incident to come forward.
In particular they are appealing for people who may have camera footage and were in the area between 12.30pm and 1.30pm to make the footage available to gardaí.
