Sixth person charged in connection with fatal assault in Dublin

A man has been charged in connection with a fatal assault that occurred in Dublin city centre last month.

A number of other people have appeared before court in relation to the incident.

Quham Babatunde, aged 34, was stabbed to death on South Anne Street/Duke Lane Upper on 15 February.

A second man, aged in his 30s, who was injured in the same incident, was treated for non-life threatening injuries in hospital.

In a statement, gardaí said a man in his 20s was arrested on Thursday.

He appeared before Dublin District Court in the Criminal Courts of Justice yesterday and was remanded to appear before Cloverhill District Court at 10am on Tuesday.

He is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a garda station in Dublin.
