Members of Dublin Fire Brigade have received an award for rescuing a cat in Ballyfermot.
The Hero to Animals award from animal protection organisation PETA was given to firefighters from D Watch at Dolphin's Barn station who rescued a cat named Biscuit from a house fire.
Biscuit was found unconscious and given oxygen by the crew and went on to make a full recovery.
In a post on X, Dublin Fire Brigade said: "Firefighter 'Paw'amedic Carrick placed a pet oxygen mask on Biscuit and after 10 minutes, Biscuit was snuggling into its owner."

A budgie and a dog were also rescued but they did not require oxygen therapy.
Dublin Fire Brigade also said it is trialling pet oxygen masks, which are on nine fire appliances, in two districts.

The crew received a framed copy of the award and the fire station said the rescue was a "team effort".

PETA Vice President of Programmes Elisa Allen said she hopes the firefighters "compassionate deed" will inspire others to help animals in need.
"Thanks to these firefighters’ heroic actions, what could have been a tragedy for Biscuit had a happy ending," she added.
