A murder investigation is under way following the death of a man in his 30s in a stabbing in Dublin city centre.
The incident occurred on South Anne Street in the early hours of this morning.
It is understood it followed a row between two groups of people out socialising.
Gardaí were alerted to the incident after 3am and the man was found unresponsive and with serious injuries. He was treated at the scene before being taken to St James's Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A second man, who is also aged in his 30s, was injured in the incident and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The area where the incident occurred was sealed off for an examination.
A number of areas around the street were also sealed off as part of the garda investigation.
They include part of South Anne Street and footpaths around St Stephen's Green and Dawson Street.
Gardaí say that the Office of the State Pathologist and Coroner have been notified.
An appeal for witness has been issued and anyone who was in the South Anne Street and Duke Street areas and may information are asked to contact gardaí.
