A man has been arrested by gardaí following an armed robbery at a shop in Dublin.
The man, aged in his 30s, entered a shop on Marewood Crescent in Ballymun around 2.30pm armed with a knife, threatened staff and removed property before leaving on foot.
Gardaí said they arrested the man in the Sandyhill Gardens area during a follow-up operation involving local and armed gardaí from Ballymun Garda Station who were supported by the ASU.
A garda spokesperson added that "less than lethal force options" were used in order to apprehend the man.
He is currently detained at a garda station in the Dublin region in connection with this incident and several other similar robberies in recent days, according to gardaí.
It is understood that this incident is not connected to the "serious incident" that happened in Stoneybatter earlier in which three people were injured.
