A man in his 60s has died after three vehicles crashed near Blakes Cross in north Dublin this morning.

Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving three vehicles on the R129 at Thomondstown around 10am.

The driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

A female occupant of another vehicle was taken to hospital with what are understood to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are undertaking a technical examination of the scene.

The R129 is currently closed at Blakes Cross and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses and are asking road users who were travelling in the area between 9.30am and 10.00am to make camera footage - including dash-cam footage - available to them.
