A man in his 20s has been arrested after drugs worth more than €300,000 were seized during a search operation in south Dublin.

The planned search was carried out at a property in the Dundrum area yesterday by gardaí from the Dublin Crime Response Team.

Cannabis herb worth approximately €300,000 and which was divided into vacuum-sealed packages, was discovered, along with €2,000 in cash.

The man was arrested in connection with the seizure and is being held at a garda station in Dublin.

Assistant Commissioner Paul Cleary said: "This large seizure of illicit drugs is a further example of the ongoing efforts of An Garda Síochána to target and arrest those in our communities who are involved in criminal activity."
