Man held over Connolly Station security incident released

A man in his 50s who was arrested following a security incident at Connolly Station in Dublin has been released without charge by gardaí.

A file will be prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The arrest was made yesterday evening after gardaí received reports of a man carrying a suspected firearm on a train arriving into the station.

Connolly Station was closed for a time and the suspected firearm was seized.

A garda investigation is continuing.
