A woman in her 40s has died following a house fire in the Ballycullen area of west Dublin last night.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to Hunter's Lane shortly after 10pm.
The sole occupant of the house was pronounced dead at the scene. Foul play is not suspected.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out and the Dublin City Coroner has been notified.
A garda spokesman said that a family liaison officer has been appointed to "support the next of kin".
"Gardaí are investigating the circumstances of this tragic incident," he said.
