Four people have been taken to hospital following an apartment fire in south Dublin.

The incident at the Tullyvale apartment complex in Loughlinstown began at around 9am.

Fire units of Dublin Fire Brigade and a turntable ladder were deployed to the scene and the fire was extinguished.

It is understood that an evacuation was in process when firefighters arrived, which they then assisted with.

Four ambulances were also sent to the scene.

It is believed that fire was confined to one apartment and that four people were in the apartment at the time.

Separately, emergency services dealt with a fire at an apartment building on Belgard Square North, in Tallaght. No injuries were reported.
