Man arrested after taxi driver robbed at knifepoint

A man in his 20s has been arrested after a taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint in Dublin.

Gardaí say that the incident took place in the Poppintree area in Ballymun, and were called to the scene at around 1.30am.

A sum of cash was also stolen and the suspect fled on foot, but was later found at a residence in the Ballymun area.

The driver of the taxi, a man aged in his 40s, was not injured in the incident.

An investigation is under way and the arrested man is currently detained.
