Thousands of people marched through Dublin city centre today as a part of a national demonstration for Palestine.

March organisers called for an end to Israel's war in Gaza and for the Irish Government to take increased action against Tel Aviv.

Today's march was organised by the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign and was supported by over 120 Irish civil society groups.

It is the seventh such rally since the war in Gaza began last October.

The march began at the Garden of Remembrance before crossing O'Connell Bridge for a rally outside the Dáil.

The protest took place on the 40th anniversary of the Dunnes stores Anti-Apartheid strike, which led to the banning of produce from South Africa.

The staff member who began that strike, Mary Manning, was one of the speakers to address the crowd and she called for a similiar boycott of Israeli goods.

The march also heard calls for the Irish Government to take action to hold Israel accountable and for an end to the use of Shannon Airport by the US military.
