Man arrested as cannabis worth over €6.8m seized in Dublin

A man has been arrested after cannabis with an estimated value of more than €6.8 million was seized in Dublin.

The drugs, approximately 343kg of herbal cannabis, were found during a joint operation conducted by Revenue's Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) in the Dublin 3 area yesterday.

The cannabis has a value of €6,860,000, gardaí said.

A man in his 20s was arrested as part of the operation and is currently detained at a garda station in Dublin under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
