There is major traffic disruption on the southbound carriageway of the M50 after a car went on fire.

The incident occurred between Junction 12 Firhouse and Junction 13 Dundrum.

Dublin Fire Brigade said its crews had extinguished the blaze and traffic restrictions have been lifted, following a full road closure earlier this morning.

Gardaí said all lanes are now reopened to traffic and the car has been removed from the scene.
