A man has been arrested after four explosive devices, cannabis and a scrambler bike were seized during searches in Dublin at the weekend.

The four viable improvised explosive devices were seized after gardaí stopped and searched a van in the Ronanstown area at around 3.40pm on Sunday.

A man in his 40s was arrested and is being held at a garda station in Dublin.

The devices were later removed by an Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team.

A small quantity of suspected cannabis and a scrambler bike were seized during searches in the Ballyfermot and Ronanstown areas.

Gardaí said that investigations are continuing.
