Four people have been taken to hospital for non-lfe threatening injuries following a fire at a house in Newcastle, Co Dublin, in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí said they received a report of a suspected criminal damage by fire incident that occurred at approximately 5am at a residence in the Aylmer Drive area.

Four people were in the house at the time and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Dublin Fire Brigade tackled the blaze.

The scene is currently preserved for technical examination and investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Newcastle/Rathcoole area of Co Dublin between 4am and 5.30am are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
